I Park Like An Idiot Bumper Stickers

Have you ever found a Rock Star parking spot - only to find that the jackass in the next spot parked over the line?

I've never been mad enough to key someones car, but I've definitely wanted to. iparklikeanidiot.com's bumper stickers are a good way to let some of that aggression out without damaging the offender's paint job. These handy bumper stickers are low-adhesion meaning they'll come off pretty easy, but they should get the message across.

You can buy a pack of 20 for $10, 40 for $15, and 100 will set you back a cool $30.

Lichtenberg Figures Are Friggin Cool

These amazing figures are created in a unique way. I'm not even going to begin describing it, just watch the video HERE

PS3 Game Player

The PS3 Game Player is nothing more than a cheap Chinese knock off.

It features a 3.5″ TFT color display at 320 x 240 resolution, handwriting recognition, stereo speakers, TV-out connectivity, and a 1.3 megapixel camera, and crappy built-in games.

I still think its neat, though I'd never buy one.

Stolen PS3 tracked through PSN

Straight From : Gizmodo

"Dustin Waller was a happy guy with a loving fiancee who was kind enough to buy him a PlayStation 3. But one day police knocked on his door and informed Waller that they'd tracked his stolen PS3 through the internet. That bitch! (OK, she actually didn't steal the console).

Apparently the system had been purchased from a local pawn shop and Waller, not knowing how the PlayStation 3 worked, assumed that the account already on the system was automatically generated. So he'd been logging in under someone else's name—someone who'd reported their system stolen as part of a larger ring of crime.

The police (we're assuming with the help of Sony) tracked Waller's IP and found the address of the PS3 (where it was immediately confiscated). While Microsoft has aided authorities in tracking Xbox LIVE threats and the occasional theft, we've never heard of busting anyone through PSN. Way to crack the skulls, Sony!"

Modder Adds Touchscreen To PSP

A professional electronic engineer and modder - jube808 - has added a touch screen to his PSP as part of the PSPZ project.

"PSPZ is a combined hardware and software project with the aim of adding to the psp platform features that i believe should have been there from psp's launch."

Features such as full touch screen support, increased battery life, and a re-designed control pad are all on the agenda.

Olympic BSOD FAIL

I AM a Windows nerd - I love it. But, I can't help but laugh every time I see a "Blue Screen Of Death". Especially in important public events :D

Olympic opening faked

Apparently part of the opening ceremony fireworks spectacular were faked. When I saw it on TV, I was amazed at how they did that. Well, what I did not realize was that I was watching computer graphics, created over a period of months and inserted into the coverage electronically at exactly the right moment.

Apparently the fireworks were there for real outside the stadium. But those responsible for filming the ceremony decided in advance it would be impossible to capture all 28 footprints from the air. The main problem with trying to shoot the real thing was the difficulty of placing the television helicopter at the right angle to see all 28 footsteps in a row.

It took almost a year to create the 55-second sequence. They even went as far to duplicate what the sky would be like that night with the smog. They even inserted a slight camera shake effect to simulate the idea that it was filmed from a helicopter.

No-return DVD Rentals "Self Terminate"

Even though these have been around for a while, I've never actually seen these for sale anywhere. Until today.

If you're not familiar with these - they're dvds that you can "rent" for around 5 bucks and once you open the package, you have 48 hours to watch it. A dye in the disc begins to darken when exposed to oxygen. A fresh disc is red and when it expires it will have turned black.

These were spotted at a truck stop between Oklahoma City and Muskogee, which makes sense - the only practical application would be for road trips or if you're just too lazy to return it. Apparently they're available at Staple's too.

Family fun!

I just had to take a pic of this AWESOME sign for a gun store. Notice the toddler with the teddy bear :)

Its like something straight out of GTA4.

Shrunken Quarters!

The guys at Stoneridge Engineering use a technique they call "high-velocity metal forming" to shrink coins.

"This process creates an invisible, but extremely powerful, pulsed magnetic field which literally 'hammers' the coin with a powerful shock wave, forcing it to change its physical shape in the blink of an eye.

Amazing stuff really, they can be purchased on ebay or HERE.

Check out the slide show below.

Corporate Shenanigans

I'm going through my inbox and come across this email. It made my day... :D

Luckiest day of the year!

You might not wake up today feeling very lucky. And what with falling house prices, rising food costs and the increasing cost of fuel (at least its going down now), you may well consider yourself quite the opposite.

Well as this is the eighth day of the eighth month of the eighth year of this millennium, there are three of them in a row - 8/8/08 - which apparently all adds up to a pretty darn cosmically good state of affairs. Its no wonder China opened the Olympics today, their belief is particularly strong where eight is very lucky....

Embarrassing Wrong Goal

There are a million videos of guys scoring on their own team, but this one is the only one that made me laugh :D

Super Slow Motion Camera Captures Lightning

This is pretty friggin cool...

Modder Creates His Own PSP Phone

A REAL working PSP phone. A very talented modder has integrated a Haier touchscreen phone to his PSP. The UMD drive is worthless now, but I'm guessing as sharp as this guy is - he probably has a "homebrew" solution and a VERY big memory stick.

Updated to 2.0.1

iPhone

I finally bit the bullet and updated the firmware on my iPhone. Iwas running a jailbroken 1.1.2 and had everything about as custom as it could get.

Unfortunately, the phone started to get janky on me - so it was time. I'm upgrading to 2.0.1 which I just found out is not hard to downgrade from - so I'm not worried about it. I think I'll just leave the jail-breaking alone for a bit until all the dust settles.

Sweet BBQ Gaming Rig

Anyone thats been to a LAN party knows that there are going to be some cool rigs there and some crazy case mods. This is about as unique as it gets.

A kid at QuakeCon had a very unique and clever case. A barbeque grill with the kid's monitor mounted in the lid and the system in the bottom. Complete with red LED fans for a hot coal effect.

Idiot actually buys the "I'm Rich" app from apple.

This guy is just an idiot. It says on the app itself in the store that it costs $999.99 and all it does is show a little red gem on the screen. What does he do? He buys it - thinking its a joke.

Nope. You just spent a 'G' on a worthless app.

Zack Kim...One talented Korean

Mad skillz, Even Hendrix would be impressed...(You listen to Jimi, but you don't hear Jimi)

Is the saga over...

What will Favre do, has been the lead story on any sports show radio/tv/internet/water cooler talk over the last couple months. Say it ain't so, but yes its official the Brett Favre era in Green Bay is over and now he's headed to the NY Jets! Wow is it finally over? Freaking about time this drama is over and we can get done to some football.

Obsessed fan actually re-creates the Batman Tumbler..

This is just amazing.... Here I am modding controllers when this guy is making his own tumbler?!?! Bob Dullam estimates that, in the end, the project will cost him anywhere from $50k-$70k

Its fully functional (except for the weapons - duh.) and is pretty much an exact replica of the tumbler in the movie (Batman Begins). And yes, the guy has his own suit.

I need one.

How to fall up an escalator

That's embarrassing.

NFL rules changing...

Hey NFL fans the rules of conduct are a changing...

Drunk and "disruptive" fans can be ejected from stadiums or parking lots without refund — and stripped of their season tickets. The same goes for fans who verbally or physically harass other fans, use obscene language or gestures or interfere with the game by throwing objects onto the field. Fans who become drunk or unruly during pregame tailgating will not be allowed into stadiums.

The rules say season ticket holders and others fans are not only responsible for their own behavior but for that of guests or anybody else occupying their seats.

Rock band guitar strum bar mod

Repost from old Forum.

The "squishy" strum bar on the Rock Band guitar has always bothered me. So, I decided to do something about it.

I took the switch from the button of a computer mouse and mounted it into the strum mechanism to get that nice, tactile "click" that the Guitar Hero guitar has. I've only done one side so far, but it works and I really only strum down anyway.

The switches from the mouse circled above.

Here it is mounted.

As a backup mechanism, I re-soldered the wires for the "Back" button to act as a strum button as well. Just in case we break the strum mechanism I've mounted - we don't have to stop rocking to repair the controller.

EDIT: Someone has done a MUCH better mod, I'm going to have to find and tear apart a GH2 controller to replicate it, but it'll be well worth it. More info HERE

PS3 controller stick mod

I'm not a fan of the sticks on the PS3 controller, so I replaced them with the sticks from an extra 360 controller I have.

This is a fairly straight forward mod - it does take some modification as the sticks will rub and get caught if you don't shorten the stick "bones" - if you will. See the pic below.

Hulu lets you watch your favorite shows and movies...

Re-post from old forum:

Hulu is a collaboration of content from 50+ providers - including FOX, NBC, MGM, Sony, WB, and more. Its a great place to stream your favorite TV shows and movies - in surprisingly good quality and they let you embed their video just like youtube.

Best of all - its free.

Below is a sample video.

Xbox 360 controller button mod

I modded my 360 controller the other night. Although it doesn't look cool like the custom controller I posted about previously - it does have some added functionality now.

I've added two extra momentary push button switches (buttons) to the back. The one that is located on the left side of the controller duplicates the "B" button *This is for the knife attack in COD4 with the "tactical" controller setting that I use. This allows me to knife people without having to take my thumb off of the right stick. I might add the jump button later.

The other button is a rapid fire button mod that I found on the acidmods forum. Normally, this kind of mod will need special parts that make the rapid fire "signal" if you will.

The folks at AcidMods.com have figured out that this can be done without the extra work. A simple two wire/one switch solution.

There are some catches - the batteries must be somewhat discharged for this to work and using this on LIVE will likely get you banned (although, I've had people complain of my rate of fire long before I ever did this mod).

*SIDE NOTE: I took this opportunity to fix the solder points on DAT DUDE RICH's usb WI-FI adapter. You can pick it up whenever :D

The DOPEST custom controller I've ever seen

This custom controller was made by modder - Controll Issues, it sports REAL Winchester 9mm shells as the buttons and a 12 gauge shell for the D-Pad.

Source and more custom controllers posted at Llama's Forum

Latest Apple rumors...

Apple will allegedly announce a problem with its batteries, one that is so serious that the company is considering a massive product recall. Additionally, it is rumored that AT&T will be awarded another year to be the exclusive carrier of the iPhone in the U.S. and finally its rumored Apple will be refreshing its notebook line in time for the back-to-school season.

Martin Jetpack officially unveiled..

HOLY ****!

I'm that much closer to getting a jetpack! $100,000 and 15 hours of flight training and one of these things can be yours! It'll hover for around 30 minutes and rise to 8,000 feet.

360 Arcade price cut to $199?

From: Engadget

There's been rumors of a 360 price cut, the Pro goes for $299 right now. The picture above is of an unknown retailer's inventory screen showing the arcade priced at $199 starting September 7th. That's just dope.

CUSS WORDS SPRINT.....

Today was a wonderful day in the world of customer service. But before we go there lets review....

Monday 7:11 I get ready to leave my house for work and stick my Treo 650 in my pocket, it resets.

Monday 12:23 I take my phone to Sprint tell them my phones broke, the techy checks it out, YEP, broke. And i quote "it will be 3-5 business days"

Friday 4:09 I call Sprint "Is my phone in yet?" And i quote "Sigh, its not Mr. Allen, theres a back order on phones, it could be up to 2 weeks, but hopefully Monday or Tuesday."

Friday 4:45 I call customer service, and i quote "Well you can either wait for that phone or call lock line and order another for 50.00 and overnight it for 12.00"

WAIT WAIT WAIT.... You want me to PAY for a phone that i get insurance on?? Are you gonna credit me back the 65.00.......... (WE ALL KNOW THAT ANSWER)

So i reason with the polite Jasmine, can you catch my dilemma, im right now as we speak paying for a phone in which i can not use, and your solutions are.

A. Wait and hope
B. Pay money for a service you pay for already, with no credit back.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?????????

BUT on a good note, Jasmine DID in fact say, that if i didnt have a new phone by Monday she would order me a new one and over night and and and AND credit my account.......

STILL, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GOOD OLE DAYS OF THE SWAP OUT, PHONE BROKE, LEAVE WITH A NEW ONE...........

YOU CAN EITHER HATE SPRINT, OR LOVE THEM, JUST LIKE ME.....

"ITS A GIFT, YET A CURSE"

Ramierez was traded...

-By The Gift and The Curse

Yesterday was a terrible day in Red Sox Nation, as the IDIOTS traded Manny Ramierez for almost nothing.

Though the RBI sluggin, long haired, non-caring star was a bit of a headache at times, he produced - year in and year - despite all the comments of his attitude and fielding.

Manny is a HITTER and probably one of the best in the bigs, with no signs of roids. Think of him as instant offense, BUT NOOOOOOOO, you want to release him. The Yanks pay out the ass for there players who haven't won crap, Manny opens his mouth a few times, which hes allowed to do based off his production alone, and Red Sox Nation wants his blood.

Poppy Cock i say. Shame on you Red Sox (so called) fans for not backing up the man who took us to the top.

This ones for you Manny.......

You can either hate me or like me,
What can i say, its a gift, yet a curse......

We were hi-jacked.

By D

"'EVODEE BODEE - GET ON DE FOOKING GROUNDE!' I was freakin out.... Cause he was Chinese, I didn't know why he was talking like that." - Dave Chappell's Killing them Softly

Well, I'm sure you've read my email by now - our new forum was hi-jacked by some Chinese people. That's a classic statement right there...

But, its true. When you try to navigate to our new forum, it takes you to a Chinese page that is scripted to try really really hard to install some spyware to your machine.

At first, I was fuming. BUT, I've come to terms with it and its actually not that big of a deal. I really liked IPB - there's a lot more that can be done with it - but the only reason we went to the new board was because the old one was suffering a server upgrade for weeks.

Now the upgrade is done and the old forum is just as good as it ever was. Being that its a lesser known host of free forums - I think we'll be safe using it.

I've really been thinking about putting some money down for a paid-hosting option - which would eliminate all the problems and limitations that we've come across previously. I just have to bite down and make the jump :D

I did decide to keep the Blog running (not that I ever really started it, but that's beside the point). I've got two blogs running - one that will have all of my custom mods and hacks and this one -which covers topics about the forum - I will also post all of the interesting things that find their way to our forum on this blog.
