Digsby is quite possibly, the best IM client I have ever used. It incorporates all of your IM accounts, email accounts, and even your myspace and facebook accounts. This allows you to do everything (set your status, reply to messages, etc.) - all from one place. It even gives you live updates from the social news feeds.
One of my favorite features is the ability to reply to IM's right from the notification window. Let's say you're in the middle of reading this blog and someone IM's you - a little window will pop-up in the corner (see pic below) with their message. You can reply directly to that person in the notification window. You don't have to switch to the IM window to reply, then switch back to your browser to come back to this fantastic blog. This definitely makes quick replies simple and fast.
