It appears there are a few gaming control pads under development. The iControl Pad (pictured) is a prototype featuring a d-pad, four buttons and a start and select button. This could mean great things for jailbroken iPhone games - there's no way apple would let this be used with their appStore games (unless it was their own product).
Maybe this will push apple to produce their own versions of a game pad. That would be great, they always do a good job with hardware.
