I finally bit the bullet and updated the firmware on my iPhone. Iwas running a jailbroken 1.1.2 and had everything about as custom as it could get.
Unfortunately, the phone started to get janky on me - so it was time. I'm upgrading to 2.0.1 which I just found out is not hard to downgrade from - so I'm not worried about it. I think I'll just leave the jail-breaking alone for a bit until all the dust settles.

Apple's new firmware update relocks an iPhone to AT&T. Some devices reportedly hang when trying to install or update an application. This happens whether you're running Version 2.0.0 or the new 2.0.1
Yeah, iphone dev team has already got workarounds(they can sucessfullly downgrade 2.0.1 to an older version with only the modem band base being affected (a problem for 3g only), but these apple counter-hacks really only pertain to 3G iphones - so I'm good :D
