Pandora may be closing shop after getting slapped with crazy royalty rates by the CRB. Founder-Tim Westergren- says that they are deciding if they should "pull the plug" and its not looking good. Pandora has long been my favorite source of music and it will be a sad day indeed when they shut it all down.
Royalties were set so high due to the fear that these stations would lead to less music sales (a plan to put web radio stations out of business). Surprisingly, Pandora alone, has accounted for at least 80% of my music purchases last year (I'd hear a new song I like, then go buy it on itunes).
